Sore ear on holiday?

So we are in the canaries and my 7year old ds is complaining of a sore ear.

Has been since yesterday. I have given calpol on waking and at bedtime and one dose of ibuprofen since yesterday morning.

We fly home on Wednesday do you think it’s worth getting (paying for) a doctor? Or waiting another day to see if it will runs its course. Little one is still playing happily , constantly in pool, only complaining when we are sitting after dinner, or if asked.

I’ve never dealt with having to get a doctor abroad, don’t know how to go about it.

Trouble is if she has an ear infection the flight home could be incredibly painful for her, worst case would be a ruptured eardrum. As someone who is prone to ear infections I would get it checked out before you fly.

Thanks for your advice. We went to a pharmacy and got drops. The flight home was fine, no issues.
