Somewhere nice to stay in SE 17th/ 18th August?

Kids are going to grandparents, so i'm looking for nice hotel / B and B for me and DH for 1 possibly 2 nights. Probably Surrey / Sussex or Kent. Have trawled old threads and fancied the George at Rye but its full anyone got ideas for something similar?

I was going to suggest Rye when I saw this title! I love Rye. There is bound to be somewhere else lovely in Rye to stay - sorry, can't recommend any hotels but I think friends stayed at the Mermaid (but I might be wrong!!)
