When's best to book a last minute cheapie??

We haven't booked anything yet- looking to fly out on August 12th.
When is the best time to book, and where? I've been looking on several websites, including teletext holidays. I haven't been to a travel agent yet. I'm looking for 5 nights in Majorca all inclusive for 5.
I don't know whether to book now, or wait another week or two. I've never booked last minute before.

See if there is anything available in the deals section on jet2holidays if their UK airports suit.

If you are willing to risk that you might not get a specific place (and assuming you are going for a traditional package) then leaving it until a couple of days before is the cheapest way.

Where do you need to fly from? The Scottish airports are often cheaper at that time.
