Crete - resort recommendations (flying to Heraklion)?

Does anyone have any recommendations for good half-board or all-inclusive resorts in Crete they'd like to share?

Our junior Percy Jackson fan will want to go to Knossos Palace and Zeus cave and I think Heraklion is likely to be a better flight option for us.

Ideally there'd be a nice village or small town in walking distance (but not a full on party town).

TUI Sensatori Atlantica Caldera Palace ticks of all your boxes.
There’s a teen zone, which is kitted out with arcade machines, sofas and flatscreen TVs. There are basketball hoops, and tables for air hockey and pool, too. There are lots of sports activities, including archery, tennis, mini football and Water Walkerz. The main buffet restaurant has children’s dishes.

A wee bump for anyone who's maybe lounging by the Pool in Crete, catching up on MN and thinking how great their hotel is!

Domes of Elounda is fab. Knossos Palace may well be a bit of a disappointment as it was mostly rebuilt in the 1920s, thought not bad as a restoration effort. The museum in Heraklion is fantastic though - lots of the objects found at the palace are there.

Thanks, good to know about Knossos/museum! Will have a look at the hotel.
