Dublin - where to stay?

My friend has entrusted me with organising her a birthday celebration for one or two nights in Dublin. I don't know Dublin but need somewhere cheap in the city centre within easy walking distance to everything, ideally with a bar/lounge and possibly a restaurant. Has anyone got any recommendations please?

Belfast! It's way better than Dublin, imho.

Dublin isn't cheap! I've stayed here when over to watch the rugby, it's in a good location, nice bar and ok rooms but nothing snazzy. £300pn for twin room inc breakfast. Hmm

There's a travelodge around St.Stephens Green.Otherwise try Jurys Inn or the Maldron hotels

Dublin is not cheap! South side is much nicer than north. This is a great little place in the best location kellysdublin.com/

The Hilton Hotel in Kilmainham is lovely.

Take your credit card! It's expensive.

stayed in the jury’s inn on Parnell street a few times, lovely hotel with everything you’ve asked for, right round the corner from o’conell street and the airport flyer stops on o’conell street also. 10 minute walk to temple bar.

Hilton Garden City on the front is amazing! We took the airline bus from outside the airport - literally at the bottom if the escalator straight to the door of The hotel. Within walking distance of everything worth seeing. Loved Dublin and can't wait to go back.
