Spain with a 7 week old

Wanted some opinions on flying to Spain with a 7 week old baby......are we mad?

Seemed like a good idea at the time, now he's here I'm getting worried about taking him away, however I think it's probably just my hormones as he's only 2 weeks old...

Has anyone taken a young baby abroad, if so what advice can you give me (no horror stories though, unless anyone wants to buy the holiday off me )

Well, its a short flight, does that make you feel any better?

No major advice but check with the airline if he is ok to fly. Some don't take babies until they are 10 weeks.

Accomodate the feedings so you have to feed him as the plain takes off, but don't start until the plane is running for take off, it will save him a lot of earache. Get a change of clothes for him and one for you in the plane. And don't document anything that may result in a catastrophe if the luggage is delayed (medicines, some extra bottles in case you are not bf any longer, something warm for the flight, etc.). You are not mad, actually this is the easier time to fly, later it's struggle to keep them still on their seats.

Thanx chandra, great advice.....Airline has no age restrictions, I could have taken him at a week old!!......Were hiring a Picasso in Spain so plenty of room, was thinking of taking his pram, he is sleeping in it at mo, something familiar for him, I've seen buggies on flights b4 but never prams, anyone know if it'll be OK to take it??

I've taken a pram on a plane (and it was Easyjet) - it's not a problem.

Have a good holiday. The Spanish love babies - if a strange old woman stops you in the street she'll probably being saying how pretty she is. Strangers sometimes ask if they can hold ds (and I let them - I think it's lucky), but mostly they just want to coo at him. It's a great place to bring a baby!

Nobody's ever said anything about my breastfeeding in public either, but if she's on a bottle, bear in mind that brands such as sma and cow and gate are unavailable here.
