Passport help ???

My sons passport expire in September and we are going to Spain two weeks time . I sent it off for renewell around 2 weeks ago and I'm still in queue . Worried I won't get new one back . Anyone know if

A) I can request the old one back and is it still ok to travel on as it expire in September ?

B) will they refund me or let me renew at a later date ?

P.s. it would have been ok to use for Spain with the current validity

I'm not sure you can do either.

My husband renewed his though recently and it took about 2 weeks so I'm sure you will get it back before you go.

Have you tried tracking it? Or phone them and ask how long it will be.

Hi yes - I've tracked it and phones but they just said it's in the queue waiting to get checked . 😰 just concerned if something wasn't right with the application then there would be more delay . I did it online .

Did it need a countersignature person? Have they done their bit ok?

You won't get the old one back as it will have already been cancelled for travel before the new one is posted out to you.
I renewed mine in April and it was back in two weeks so hopefully your ds's will be back soon.

Arggh !! Yeah it was countersigned fine online too . I looked online and it says I can cancel the application but just won't get my money back 🧐
