Are there any museums with dino bones in the Cambridge area?

Just posted this under travel and then realised there is a day's out topic - since when? Anyway, we don't want to trek up to Kensington, but dd1 wants to see dinosaur bones. Cambridge or East Anglia are better bets for us, and with all the museums in Cambridge one must have an impressive dinosaur?

Any ideas? TIA!

There is a very impressive iguanodon at the Sedgwick Museum in Downing Street (Cambridge city centre) - here's some info on the museum

Also the zoology has a massive skeleton of whale hanging outside - weekdays only!

Fantsatic - thank you! Can you get from one to the other on foot? Also how accessible are they by train?

They are very close to each other - but a bit of a pain if you have a buggy as there are steps leading up to the Sedgwick. They are slap bang in the city centre - Downing Street is next to where the new John Lewis is being built - you'll go past it on the bus just before getting off in Emmanuel Street.

Thanks, Babster. So what bus do I need from the train station?

Citi 1, 3 and 007 all go from the station to the city centre. Have a great day out! (Reminds me actually that we should go revisit the dino now that ds is mad into them)

the Sedgewick has a lift - but a pain cos you need to get someone to operate it for you.

Thank you both, this is so helpful. I think dh has been delegated to Museum Duty and I will stay home with dd2, ds and the buggy!

Thanks again!
