Visiting the Mayan Riviera in May next year, wanting to hire a car for part of the holiday (we like to go out most days and hate coach excursions) How safe is it in Mexico to drive? We will be only travelling to tourist areas (eco parks etc, nothing off the beaten track) and using the highway, I'm used to driving abroad so no issue with the actual driving itself if this makes sense!
