Jet2 Baggage Allowance - confused

Wondering if anyone could help me out - maybe I’m just being a bit thick...

We are flying with Jet2 next week. We have 6x23kg cases booked - 1 for each person flying (included in the package...)

The question I have is: is it alright to combine the baggage allowances per person? i.e. 23x6 = 138kg maximum. Is it okay to split this across say, 3 or 4 cases, with each going over 23kg but under 32kg max bag limit and 138kg total?

I would ask Jet2, but live chat is shut and if I need to buy smaller cases, I need to do that today! Thank you!! Smile

this thread suggests its ok, but I dont know if the rules have changed recently.
Or just 4 cases at 23kg each? 4 of us usually take 2 cases between us. I moved internationally with me and 2 kids, sheets, towels, clothes and toys on 120kg! Admittedly, DH then brought a further 50kg a month later!

It’s usually 22kgs in a Jet2 package per person. It’s find as long ax you don’t exceed either 6 cases or 132kg.

We always have 3 suitcases of different weights and sizes but don’t exceed the combined allowance.

We do combine 4 lots of 23k over 3 cases and they are fine with it

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 13/07/2019 18:54

It's fine to combine but iirc no single case should be over the 22k limit.

LIZS · 13/07/2019 18:59

23kg is pretty generous and you may struggle to lift much more anyway.

cazzyg · 13/07/2019 19:34

It’s ok for a single case to be over 22/23kg as long as it’s under 32kg as that’s the maximum permitted. Eg 1 suitcase of 30kg and one at 14kg would be fine if the combined total is 44kg.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 13/07/2019 19:50

Each bag should not weigh more than 23kg. Bags weighing over 23kg get charged £12 per extra kilo.

troppibambini · 13/07/2019 19:58

I fly with jet 2 a lot and it's fine as long as one bag doesnt weigh more than 32kgs and you don't exceed your total weight limit.

cazzyg · 13/07/2019 20:07

Didn’t get charged this morning for a 30kg bag as it was within the combined allowance.

dementedma · 13/07/2019 20:18

Blimey. How long are you all going away for? We usually just take hand luggage plus one shared case for bigger stuff. Mind you we self cater or do Air BnB so can chuck stuff in the washing machine

BarbaraofSevillle · 14/07/2019 11:14

The Jet2 allowance per person is 22 kg not 23 but yes, you can combine, subject to a weight limit of 30 or 32 kg for the baggage handlers H&S, but unless you are taking sporting equipment or something else significantly heavier than standard holiday clothes, that is an enormous amount of luggage that you probably won't need, so if your cases are bigger, you might find that you only need 3 or 4 cases anyway - just because you have the allowance, you don't have to use it all.

As someone else has said, a lot of people will struggle to lift a case that is much more than 22 kg anyway. You also don't have to fill the case you know! Smile
