Why not just use roaming on your phone?

lalafafa · 09/07/2019 13:12

Want it for tablets too.

Can you not set your phone up as a hotspot? That might work out cheaper than buying a MiFi device.

WhatHaveIFound good idea, Thank you. They’ll be a lot of us in the villa and the devices are about £25.

I have a mifi device, I bought it on eBay for about £15. Then I get a data sim when I arrive at holiday destination. It's very handy when connecting multiple devices and also can take it out n about

Be aware that despite many offering a high amount of data some of the companies cap you once abroad and are roaming so factor that in if lots of people are planning to use the data. So Three is something like 19Gb but O2/Vodafone don't have a limit bar what is on your plan. If you click through to each provider on the below link it suggests what the cap is

My phone company doesn't allow using my phone as a hotspot abroad so check that first

WhatHaveIFound · 10/07/2019 10:55

We're on EE and DH used his as a hotspot last month so that we only had one set of data roaming charges.

Of course if you're spread around a villa the wifi coverage might not be great, especially if you have big thick stone walls.
