Anyone recommend Malta?

I went years ago pre kids and really liked it. Is it a good destination for children? If so which destination? Don't want to go anywhere that's clubby! But I know nothing about Malta now. Many thanks

I love it, never been to the club areas before either. There are a few beach resorts with hotels, Mellieha bay is a lovely but popular beach with hotels, very shallow sea too.
We tend to stop in an apartment in a town that doesn't have sandy beaches but is still family friendly

Meant to say it is pretty much just St Juliens with the real night clubs so I'd personally avoid it although I've never stopped in that area so it may be perfectly family friendly

Thks Aph. What's Bugibba like? I saw it had an aquarium and car museum that Dh and ds would like 😁

Don't mean to be rude but the resorts all seem to look a bit grey and grim from what I've seen. Where are the pretty places? 😁

We stayed in St George's Bay when we went in 2012. Lovely local restaurants, not to touristy but easy access to Valetta etc. It was over 40 degrees when we went that July - a heatwave even by their standards, so we didn't do as much exploring as we would have normally.

Yes I would recommend! It’s a mixed bag, there are some real grot bag resorts and towns but you’ll know that if you’ve been! Valletta & Mdina were really attractive & I’d revisit. We had a couple of nights in Silema (wouldn’t recommend) then a week out at Ramla Bay on the North coast near the ferry to Gozo. My youngest was then 4 and there were plenty of kids for her to make friends with. It’s near a bus stop with frequent and cheap buses to other areas of the island. The entertainment was pretty awful (think Neil Diamond night after night!) but avoidable.
