Has any had dcs travel with this company?
My son is thinking about it for next summer but we've got no experience of this kind of thing.

If this is any sort of short term voluntourism abroad (and it does sound like it) I would avoid it like the plague.

It's a psychology work placement in Bali for 6 weeks working in clinical and community settings.

You really do need to do a lot more research around the whole area of voluntourism because it is problematic and such short term placements can do more harm than good to the locals (which is something that neither you or your son want).

Would he be working beyond his level of competence?. People in developing nations deserve the same protections as people in the UK and they are not guinea pigs for aspiring medical students just because they're poor and don't have access to anything better.

I would advise your son to volunteer with a mental health charity or helpline here in the UK instead. It may not sound so glamourous or insta friendly but at least everyone involved including your son would not be exploited by such companies whose primary aim is to make a profit.
