Chateau le Foret camping - Vendée

Posted in camping too but no replies so hoping someone can help here.

We're booking quite late for a holiday in August and wondered if anyone has been to this campsite? We'd be booking a mobile home for a week. There are so many great sites out there but limited availability everywhere. I tried the MN favourite of La Garangeoire but it's predictably all booked up.

This Yelloh site looks good on paper but would love to hear personal experiences of the site 🤞Our kids are 5 and 7 and all they want to do swim all day and bicycle and run around. Are Yelloh sites good in general?

I like the fact the Vendée is better weather than Brittany but is the area a bit dull in terms of aesthetics compared to Brittany? Are there good places to go and see?

All info gratefully received!

Definitely go to Puy du Fou.

I’d also recommend Les Sables d'Olonne, a pretty fishing harbour town half an hour's drive to the south. It’s got a beautiful 3-kilometre long sandy beach and a lovely flat promenade with bars and restaurants. The lovely resort of Bretignolles-sur-Mer, eight miles away, is home to Vendée Miniature.

Zoo les Sables is a decent zoo with tigers, elephants, lions and many endangered species. There are lots of feeding displays too so a good day out with kids.

Indian Forest is perfect for energetic kids. It’s an adventure park with so many different activities, from tree top adventures and zip-wires to karting, archery and pony rides.

Thanks for the info! I think the zip lining etc is right by the campsite if that's the same one so that's great. Some really helpful local info there.

Hopeful someone might come along who's stayed there too - anyone?
