My mum (early 70s but would pass for early 60s) would really like to go to Greece this would possibly be a big family holiday, or just my self, mum and my 2 small children (under 5s).

Can anyone recommend somewhere to go that's not too commercial (mum's words) with maybe one or 2 child friendly places to visit?

Or even specific places that are child friendly but not in a really big resort. Any other options considered!

Most of Greece is child friendly and plenty of areas are not over commercialised. I'm not sure what your under 5s would want other than a sandy beach and a swimming pool. That's all mine wanted then and now (as grown ups!). Skiathos and Crete might be good starting points as they both have reliable busses for getting around the islands.
