Switzerland in August

We are driving to Switzerland in August for a holiday (staying over in France on the way there and way back) so will be there for 8 days.
Does anyone have any top tips or must see places to go?

Where in Switzerland are you going to?

We are staying in Verbier

Depends on what sort of stuff you like.
Up in the mountains hiking is lovely.

If you're interested in day trips, then chateaux chillion in montreux on lake Geneva is nice, and montreux itself is good too.

You could go to leukerbad for thermal spas

Google brigerbad, the slide in the mountainside is awesome

The aletsch glacier is the biggest in Western Europe

Zermatt is quite a trek from where you are, but it does have the Matterhorn...
