Good Cornish beach for beginner body boarding

I am looking for recommendations for a good beach for a 7 year old to try out body boarding. We have the kit and want to give it a go without lessons, and we'll just be pottering really. I'd like to avoid the main surfing hubs so we don't get in the way but still be somewhere that has life guards. We're based near Newquay but can travel for a good spot. Thanks in advance Smile

Parranporth has plenty of swell, as well as ample space along the popular three mile beach for the crowds who gather, although it can get crowded between the lifeguard flags. It’s suitable for beginners and experienced surfers and bodyboarders.
Portreath, in its sheltered harbour, is a popular surfing beach with families. At high tide, the dumping waves are fabulous for bodyboarders.
Porthtowan is popular with expert shortboarders and families, the surf is consistent, though it can be rippy, and is sheltered by the cliffs.
