USA long island/cold spring/capecod? october

we are going to NYC for 4 nights and Boston for 4 nights . we want to visit a 3rd place in the middle, and would like a more relaxed 4 night break, with maybe a pool etc. we need to get there by train , any suggestions please?

It won’t be that hot in NY or Boston in October. Not warm enough for the beach and an outdoor pool. It’s Autumn. I’d go somewhere for the leaves!

Think about Vermont/New Hampshire. The trees are magnificent that time of year, but it's not warm enough for a pool

No I was thinking of an indoor pool, so doesn’t need to be near a beach, just not a city and somewhere nice to relax after NYC. I will look at Vermont.

Rhode Island might be of interest. It’s between Boston and NY. Do you want to be closer to NY or Boston? Also Route 100 and Route 7A in Vermont will be spectacular. But book up as it will be very popular and busy.
