Is it too late to book a holiday for Monday?

Due to some prevaricating from dh we haven’t booked anything, and are only available next week. Anyone know any good sites for last minute ones? I don’t want to fly by Ryan air.
Have been trawling though the jet2 site but it’s a bit like picking through the unwanted items in a shop...
Europe, flight from Scotland, two adults two children if anyone has any magic ideas!

We booked a holiday last Sat to fly on Monday - we found a good deal to Lazarote with Tui, worth checking out!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 26/06/2019 20:35

Tui have got a load to Lanzarote - and Bulgaria, bizarrely, as well as Turkey, Menorca, Majorca. Depends on your budget but there seem to be a fair few out there.

PlaymobilPirate · 26/06/2019 20:41

You can fly to majorca on Monday from Edinburgh

Piffpaffpoff · 26/06/2019 20:43

School holidays start this weekend - try a flight from Newcastle if you can, will be more availability and oodles cheaper!

Mayday19 · 26/06/2019 20:47

I haven’t actually looked at Tui, daft I know.
I’m fortunate in living really near an airport puffpaffpoff, I get what you’re saying but I really couldn’t face the hassle!!

We got a half price holiday on Holiday Pirate last year because it was a last minute booking - definitely worth checking those kinds of sites rather than specific airline sites

DharmaInitiativeLady · 26/06/2019 21:04

I would not recommend Club Mac in Alcudia

BA holiday often have absolute bargains last minute, they only seem to use decent hotels and you can get whole packages for less than the flights would normally cost.

Mayday19 · 26/06/2019 21:59

Good ideas here about where else to try, thank you!
Playmobilpirate, can I employ you? I would really half board or similar though. Not keen on Turkey after a bad holiday there once, but would try anywhere else. Tuesday is fine actually too!

I would go to Skyscanner, put destination as everywhere to find cheapest flights then open a new tab and look on booking sites to see if any decent accommodation is still available. If so, book both at same time before flight price changes or someone nabs the accommodation you liked. Or if you just want an all in one package check dealchecker, easyJet holidays etc...

Any chance you could go from Newcastle or even Leeds or Manchester? If you're looking at Scotland, have your school holidays started now, so it's high prices/low availability?

A couple of years ago, we booked 5 days in Mallorca at less than a week's notice but that was Easyjet flights and a separate hotel, but it was nice and quite cheap - not bargain basement, but not £££s either.

Try the deals section of jet2holidays from newcastle to see if there's more choice than what's available from Scottish airports.

Alternatively, the weather forecast looks quite good for the next few days - what about somewhere in England, Wales, Isle of Man etc?

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 27/06/2019 06:49

Lastminute.com? Icelolly.com has some good chap deals sometimes.

CottonSock · 27/06/2019 06:50

I've done this for next day once after a drunken night Blush
It was raining in UK so.we had sky scanner open plus the weather forecast for every place. We went to Paris where it was boiling and had a wonderful time. Only downside is we didn't think about air conditioning need (as it was so cold here).

Thanks everyone for all the advice. Just to update - after a lot of looking on all the sites mentioned on here, I ended up booking one from jet2 - the price I wanted to pay but in a location I hadn’t considered. There are some compromises (all in one room!) but the pool looks amazing and the dc are v v happy. Smile
