Travel around Lake Como advice

I've already posted this in AIBU and someone suggested this was a better place for it, so apologies for those who see it twice.

Planning a slightly last-minute trip to Lake Como and surrounding area at the end of July for 1 week and I'd really appreciate advice on where to go / places to see.

We're travelling in and out of Milan, we'll have a car. Ideally we would stay in no more than 2 places so there's not too much travelling around - maybe one chilled place with a pool where we can relax a bit with a great view - something very chilled and peaceful where we can laze around - and another where we can travel around a bit more and see other towns?

Suggestions of places to visit and stay would be really appreciated!

We've already visited Lake Garda but we're open to going to other places nearby e.g. Lake Maggiore.

Thanks in advance!

Stresa area of Lake Maggiore is stunning and cheaper than Lake Como. Bellagio is gorgeous but very busy. Villa Balbianello is definitely worth a visit. We stayed here in Tremezzo a few years back. www.hotelvillamarie.com/en/home/ Lovely family run place.

5 minutes stroll from the ferry and restuarants. Nice breakfast and drinks and snacks by the pool

We stayed in Menaggio. You can use the ferries from there to access other places around the lake, including Como itself. We also drove to Lake Lugano in Switzerland one day.
