So jealous OP. Just bumping for you, though you might get more responses in Chat if you would like us to move this for you?

Happy birthday to you OP!
I am also jealous @EstherMumsnet.

Where (roughly) do you live now? Would you consider/be able to go abroad for a short break, or would you prefer to stay here??

What do you enjoy? Food? Wine? Alcohol? Walking? Architecture? Spa break? Etc.

Personally if I had two nights away I'd find a lovely hotel in the UK somewhere (one with fluffy robes and a freestanding bath with a four poster bed). I'd have lie ins with breakfast in bed and read books and not work in a city I love (maybe London or Bath) so I could see the sights during the day, have an afternoon tea one day and visit a Michelin starred restaurant the other evening. But it depends on what you are into. There is always Paris or Amsterdam just a short flight away too...

i'd go to a spa but i'd leave DH at home too

We are in somerset so quite easy to reach most things and 30 mins away from Bris airport. I basically can't decide between a nice spa break or a city hopping break where sometimes you do end up more tired but you feel like you've not wasted your trip..i would love to visit Paris (we luckily have done amsterdam, rome before DD and my sister lives in London so i kinda feel like we've done those). I think i'm veering towards a foody spa on the coast so we can still do a little sight seeing however i haven't seen much of the UK mainly the south...there is far too much choice lol!
