We've never been, is it worth going for a day out? Any recommendations with a 12 year old boy?

Hmm, the North Laines are pretty cool, There is also Nandos.

Depends what you like doing, and how fart you're travelling?
As Eleanor says there are some unusual independent shops in the north laines.
The Pavilion is stunning but may not be a teen boys idea of a good thing.
The pier has some overpriced rides, and a zip wire.
Otherwise it's just a fairly manky beach side resort.

we went for a long weekend last year when my son was 13, tons of stuff to do.
The Pier arcade and Fair, zip line on the beach, the Tower, the beach, Ghost Walk, Royal Pavilian, Sea World, thats all we had time for

How far you're travelling Blush

Lots of interesting shops and sights for a 12 year old in the Lanes/North Laine areas. If sunny take a walk along the seafront, listen to some live music, sit at a bar/restaurant and soak up the atmosphere. The i360 might be fun on a clear day but I’m yet to do it. The Pier is hell on Earth IMO but it’s probably great fun for kids.
