Car seat rental in France with Easyjet

I am travelling to France with DS who is 5yo. Want to try hiring a car while there. We’re going to a Eurocamp and flying with Easyjet. I wanted to hire the car from Easyjet but they only give an option of getting a hiring a car for a child between 0-3 years old. Also my impression was that Easyjet would charge (and a reasonable amount maybe £70 each way) to allow you to bring a car seat on board for free once the child is 5? Before that it is free... can anyone let me know if they’ve been able to bring a car seat on board an easyjet flight for free.

I’ve already booked the flight with EJ otherwise I’d have thought again given these constraints.

Also what is with the option once in the Easyjet website that you can only choose a car seat for a young child but not an older one when the law in France makes it a requirement for both to be in a car seat
