Hi, we are off to Lytham St Anne's by train and staying at a hotel. We've been once before and mainly did the pier, beach, and Ashton Gardens. We walked to Fairhaven Lake too. What else would you recommend?
The youngest is 4, eldest is 80 Grin
And does the sea EVER come in??

If you like tacky Blackpool is just down the road, its not all Fish Chips and Bingo lots of good shows etc. Personally I would stay in Liverpool, its a very vibrant compact city loads going on and Southport, Chester etc is just down the road.

There is a splash park now which your youngest adventurer would love. More activities along front too.

I think there is more than enough to do for a few days along the front.... Crazy golf, pier, playgrounds and parks etc,
We went Easter weekend... Glorious day, beach was heaving and the sea really came in!

When are you going, rather big festival coming up given the size....

DtPeabodysLoosePants · 22/06/2019 23:05

We are going before the festival.

I believe the shops in Lytham/ Lytham St Anne's are quite nice, I never get chance to mooch around them with my kids in tow. There's a really good park in Lytham which the 4 year old would love - it has everything (including a water/sand play area, so bring a spare lot if clean clothes).

In St Anne's, I enjoy looking round the lifeboat place.

As pp said Blackpool is not far down the road, the tower ballroom is lovely. Going up in the tower is great if you don't mind heights.

Hope you enjoy your trip.

@DtPeabodysLoosePants the sea comes in every day google tide times 😁 Lytham is a lovely place compared to Blackpool, go into the town loads of nice shops and restaurants, there is a big park not far away if you can find a bus or get a taxi?

Or you could go into Blackpool lots of stuff to do there just wouldn't stay there x

Was it this weekend you were going? It's Lytham Club Day this weekend, so if you make your way up to Lytham Green (by bus I would say) they have a fun fair

DtPeabodysLoosePants · 23/06/2019 09:24

We are going to Lytham St Anne's not lytham but than you.

@DtPeabodysLoosePants lytham st Anne's is w general term for the area. There's st Anne's (where the pier is), ansdell and then lytham, which all fall under the lytham st Anne's umbrella.

DtPeabodysLoosePants · 23/06/2019 09:56

I didn't know they classed 3 different places as one. We've been before to just st Anne's and that's where we are going again.

@DtPeabodysLoosePants yeah I class it all as Lytham then Blackpool...
