Where is cheaper in August

Ok so I know nowhere is at it’s cheapest but is there anywhere that’s sort of off season?
Foe example Rome is less busy as Italians take their holidays at the beach and the city is boiling. But I’ve done that. Any other cities or countries I can investigate with similar tendencies?

If you go in the second half of August from a Scottish airport, the flights will be cheaper as schools in Scotland have gone back by then.

How late in August can you go? We've been to Mallorca and the Costa del Sol in late August into early September from airports in northern England and it won't have been school holiday prices because as a child free couple we do not pay school holiday prices and we just choose where and when we go within September ish, based on what's cheapest.
