Hi - we're planning to go to Rome and Pompeii (or surrounding area) with kids in April next year. Please can you give me any tips on accommodation for either? Happy to do either hotel or apartment, but I'm not happy to share a room with kids so if a hotel, it would need to be suite with two rooms/inter-connecting rooms?
Thanks v much!

We stayed at the Hotel Forum in Rome. Great rooms on the corner with view over the Palatine and Forum which is lit up at night.

We stayed in an airb&b in Naples to visit Pompeii and then moved to one in Rome. Saved the long train journey from Rome-Pompeii. Just a suggestion.

Rome I would go a bit further “up” than the Colosseum. Although it doesn’t really matter as everything is relatively close.
Hotel Ponte Sisto was a good location and great hotel. Our best holidays have been in apartments in Rome though. Balconies and kitchens are a godsend. We used Sleep in Italy I think think and they had an office on the outskirts of Rome ( met us at apartment), Stay near the Tiber and then it’s easy to find your way home ( and very central).
I’ve done Pompeii but it was on a cruise so no help there I’m afraid.
