Can anyone tell me if I can travel on this passport?

Recently booked to go to a Greek island, however discovered that DH's passport expires in September. We've booked to go end of July/ start of August. Wasn't too sure whether we needed 6 months on it from when we're travelling? Have tried the gov calculator but is telling me there's a problem as we're travelling before 31st October (I presume brexit related). Is anyone able to tell me if we should be okay or does it need renewing? TIA

It depends what happens with brexit, hence the advice to have 6 months on it. But, just get it renewed now. You will have to do it soon enough anyway and its not worth the risk of losing your holiday.

According to Gov.uk, passports need to be valid for the duration of your stay. No extra validity required.

Renew now, you have plenty of time and then you don't need to worry

It would only be an issue if we Brexit without a deal before you return home from holiday.

Hopefully that is very very unlikely, especially as the Government is currently more concerned with replacing Teresa May, and they have their summer recess from late July to early September.

I’ve travelled to Spain before on a passport with only a few weeks left and in theory nothing has changed since then BUT you do have time to get it renewed, I just did it online and it took just under a week
I would probably renew to be safe and not worry about it

You need to check Greece's regulations on passport, how long they require on passports. It's no concern of the UK how long you have. Britain allows British citizens to enter on expired passports if need be.
