Which brands do you find most effective? Do you use spray, wipes, lotion or a combination? Suitable for a 7 year old.
Thank you.

Whereabouts are you going? If you are going somewhere with mosquito born diseases then you need to be sure your 7 year old is safe which means using a product with up to 30% deet. I've used Bens Family insect repellent (you can get it on Amazon) in both Costa Rica & Sri Lanka & it was 100% effective on my DD. Unfortunately natural products don't 100 % work but if your going to Europe or an area where mozzies aren't carrying nasties then something like Jungle Formula Family is pretty good - www.amazon.co.uk/Jungle-Formula-Insect-Repellent-Family-x/dp/B000KU72LA?tag=mumsnetforu03-21. Boots Repel natural is also good - www.th.boots.com/en/brand-a-z/browse-by-brand/repel/boots-repel-insect-repellent-lotion-natural-citronella-and-eucalyptus-oils-50-ml-2462347.html#.XP3-C0TTW9c.

Avon Skin So Soft is completely useless as are the mosquito bands ( used them in Costa Rica on me & they had no affect at all on stopping bites!). Put the repellent on over sun screen (give both time to dry).
