Bulgaria or Morocco?

I'm looking at hols for May/ June next year. It will be just me and my 8 year old son. I'm torn between Bulgaria (sunny beach) or Morocco (Marrakesh). I've found a good for AI for a week including to transfers to Marrakesh for £871 but to Bulgaria found a similar deal, hotel isn't as nice but has a water park and it is £626 so that's nearly £250 cheaper. I can afford either but am saving to move house so cheaper the better.... plus I'd like a holiday in October half term to if I can find out. Any thoughts?

Not been to Bulgaria but we took our DD to Marrakech 4 years ago when she was 7 - had a couple of nights in a Riad in the old town then a week at an AI on the outskirts (the Eden Andalou - it had its own water park). We went the May half term - the weather was a bit mixed with some 31 degree days but some cooler rainy days! Marrakech is not kid friendly - it's very interesting but half of it doesn't seem to be on a map, there are no pavements in the old town & we were constantly swerving mopeds and donkeys - all of which isn't relaxing with a DC! Add on to that being stalked & hassled by would be tour guides. I'd really really recommend arranging a tour guide in advance if you going into the city itself - you'll find lots of companies on TripAdvisor. Having said all that, we found it a really interesting place & my DD had a ball at the Eden Andalou!
My sister had a cheap & very nasty holiday in Bulgaria about 10 years ago with her brood but I think that was just bad hotel choice & I've heard much more positive stories
