In the Uk or abroad (France/Spain etc)

We’ve spent the last 10 years with a caravan and as a result all our weekend and holidays have been spent in it. But that’s about to change so looking for ideas for lovely places to spend a weekend/half terms.

We’re a family of 4- 2 DDs who are 9 and 12. We like city breaks, being by the sea, in the country , just exploring!

Try the National Trust website, they have some pretty special places on there! We stayed here last year and it was absolutely breathtaking:

gonetothebeach.co.uk/north-berwick. By the coast, 30 mins by train to Edinburgh, gorgeous properties. Weather not guaranteed of course!

How about Skipton in the yorkshire dales? plenty of decent cottages in there, and lots to do/see.

Type in unusual places to stay

I've stayed in windmill, shepherds hut, church, wooden hut next to sea, farm

Still got these on my list
Helicopter or plane on ground
Treehouse
Glamping yurt
Lighthouse
Ice hotel

Try a cottage on the Norfolk broads , one with a little rowing boat and you'll be well away!
