Anyone out there travel on Ryanair with a baby? Would you recommend it or steer clear?

Really Moondog? Good for you. I will try that next time.

We flew with Ryanair two weeks ago. We didnt pay for Priority Booking but as the flight wasn't packed, we managed to sit together. There were two other families who boarded a bit later than us and the crew asked a few people to move around so the families could sit together. The pushchairs were taken and given back very quickly and undamaged.

Only letdown was an hour delay returning from France - unfortunately, no one told us about the delay before or during it and there was no one to ask.

I flew with Ryanair about six weeks ago (although I had no children with me). We had paid for priority boarding and on the way out it was absolutely fine they made sure that priority boarding customers got on the plane first and were allowed to choose their seats. On the way back (Murcia, Spain) they put all the priority boarding passengers to the front with this little barrier between us and the tarmac, then piled all the other passengers behind us, waited a few mins, lifted the barrier and then people began running across the tarmac to the plane, it was awful, I really felt sorry for the parents with young children who were juggling babies, changing bags and buggies whilst just about being flatted by these loonies careering across the tarmac.

I wouldn't say don't fly Ryanair but I would say pay for priority boarding but be prepared for a scramble. I certainly would have moved from my seat to allow a family to sit together so I would imagine many others would do the same.
