Yes but usually only if you fly really light. We flew to Spain in April for 38.99 from Scotland but we could manage with 6kg of luggage so had to pay an extra 50 each for 20kg. Which still isn't that bad.

Very interested in this. We want to go away for 3 nights soon and aren't that fussed where we go.

Seems quite tricky to not specify destination and find a bargain though. Seems to be a question of trying every single destination which takes ages!

My daughter regularly had weekend flights from Italy to U.K. (and her boyfriend in the opposite direction) for €9 each way. They’d travel light and no frills but it meant she could see her boyfriend in her year abroad. It was with Ryanair though.

Look on weekend.com or the App. You put in what airport and for how long and it brings up deals that can be from as little as £50 all in flights and hotel and often breakfast.

Momondo has an 'everywhere' search - you just put in the dates and it'll give you the cheapest prices for flights to loads of different places

Ooh that is fab thank you!!

AnyFucker · 02/06/2019 09:13

.

I've tried those suggestions, weekend.com you have to go on a Saturday and Sunday and we want to go midweek and momondo only seems to have 7 night deals not 3 night ones, and flight only you have to specify destination?

NoBaggyPants · 02/06/2019 09:20

Skyscanner lets you enter your home airport and search for everywhere.

If you are flexible on dates and don't mind daily emails, sign up for the free Secret Flying email alerts lists (UK departures), they sometimes list last minute deals on there.

If you know what days you want to travel on track prices on Google flights and you will get an email when the price changes (much more accurate than Skyscanner which uses data from previous user searches and so can be up to 15 days out of date).

I didn't find weekend.com that cheap and you can fly on Thurs or Fri !

Landfilly · 02/06/2019 11:20

We need to go Monday or Tuesday. Will check out secret flying thank you!

Sign up to Jack’s Flight Club, email subscription, it is fantastic.

Depends on what you mean by cheap but we got return flights to Mallorca for a long weekend (Thurs to Sun) for £120 each return a couple of years ago at 5 days notice.

Skyscanner to put your dates in and tick the I'll go anywhere option would be your best bet I would have thought.

Ryanair were doing £10 returns to places like Malta at a few week's notice last November, but if would probably would have been more like £30 if you wanted to take more than a handbag with you as luggage.

Thanks all!
