So we re looking to spend a week to 10 days in the alps this summer and looking for ideas on location. We d like to do some cycling - 6 year old can cycle well but not probably up for mountain biking, older two would love mb. Lake swimming, kayaking, views etc. Is this achievable? Thanks

We regularly stay in rented caravans at campsites all around the Alps.
Here are some of the ones which would tick your boxes:
La Ravoire
There’s a cycle path that runs at the rear of the campsite which takes you to Annecy (17km) or you can ride the other way to complete the famous Col De La Forclaz route. They have bike rental. There is also a games room with a pool table, table football and video games as well as a local information room. At Angon beach there’s a safe and enclosed swimming area patrolled in the high season by lifeguards. There are also deckchairs and even a beach bar! The campsite has a free daily bus shuttles to La Sambuy where there’s a summer toboggan, off-road pedal go-karts, trampolining and tubby jumping, and at the top of the chair you get the most amazing view of Mont Blanc and Lake Annecy. There’s also a downhill mountain biking path which we didn’t try! There’s a watersports centre only about 1km from the park (with older dc you could walk to it) and a Go Ape style centre a little further afield.

Disdilles disdille.com/en/ Probably the best for lake swimming!

Camping La Grande Terre www.campinglagrandterre.com/en/ Not in the Alps, but by a river where you can swim and it has the most stunning views. There are canoe trips along the river which leave direct from the campsite. Waterslides for the kids! I can’t find anywhere on their website which confirms it, but when we went there was bike rental. The cycle paths near the site are great.

Slovenia! Lots of amazing campsites with all that and more. Check the ones around Bovec, Bohinj and Bled....

The Kinder Hotels are very good in Austria, we stayed in one in Hintertux - that has snow all year, skiing and ice palace all year and watersports walkable or nearby. Lots of natural swimming lakes in Austria. This is part of hotel playground and view.
