Brac, Croatia

[Xiddling]

Hi, we are spending a week in a villa in Sumartin in Brac in August. Has anyone been to the island, and ideally, Sumartin? It’s hard to find out much about the island and I’m having a panic about it since booking. We have three kids who will be 8, 11 and 13. Any tips and recommendations gratefully received.

Never been to Brac, but I know Split quite well and have also been to Korcula and Mljet. Will you be hiring a car?

Otherwise Google maps is useful, zoom in for grocery shops, restaurants, bars etc and click on them for photos, reviews, menus etc, plus Streetview to get an idea what it looks like.

A car at least gives you the option of exploring the island, so you could go over to the Golden horn beach (Zlatni Rat) and near there to Bol, or ferry to the mainland or possibly Hvar.

Thank you. I will check out the forum. Have you been Aquilla? Did you do any activities such as kayaking, biking, boat hire etc? We are quite an active family (although am aware that it will be hot) and I’m hoping we’ll have enough to do. Although we do like pottering around pretty villages and having lazy pool side afternoons too.

I've been to Split and did two day trips to Brac. Check hygiene of eating places but lovely island from the bit we saw.
