Suggestions for long weekend in September please!

Planning a city break in Europe for a long weekend in September. Anyone got any suggestions - we have done Paris, Rome, Vienna, Marbella, Majorca and Guernsey. Ideally somewhere warm with stuff to interest DH (anything mechanical or techy) and lovely shops for me. Good international restaurants with choice for plain food.

Don't fancy Brussels, Krakow, Berlin, Sweden (only because of fishy food!) or Malta.

Thanks for help and suggestions!

Barcelona is lovely x

Stay at Heidelberg or Karlsruhe for the shops, visit Sinsheim for all things mechanical and techy, including Concorde and an Imax cinema. Weather should be warm in September, there is sure to be plain food.

Easy to fly Ryan air to pisa and also enjoy that technical stuff there for the hubby angle of that pesky tower, then on to Florence for a few days there is also a designer village just outside the city by bus if you like to shop and get discounts

Nantes, has the www.lesmachines-nantes.fr/en/ plus plenty of shops and good places to eat. Don't know how warm it will be but you might get lucky.

Granada, my favourite city in Espana. Need to book the Alhambra before you go though.
