Within an hour of North London (summer)

Looks like summer is on it's way this weekend. It's supposed to be 26 degrees here so I'd like to get my 4yo DD out of (North) London for the day and make the most of the nice weather.

It will just be the two of us. I drive but I'm not keen on being in the car too long, so max journey time of about an hour. Where could we go? Ideally not a zoo / anything to do with animals.

knebworth house? it has amazing gardens to run around in (i recommend bringing a picnic). There is a dinosaur trail to walk round, and there is a fab playground too. all the best x
