What are your year 11's doing over the long summer?

Do they have lots planned or are they taking it easy after all the exams?

Mine doesn't have much on, just a couple of days away in July (EDT Headstart course) and a short scouting trip later in the holiday.

How important is it that they do something now to talk about in university/ job interviews etc?

Mine all did NCS - so that's 3 weeks used, then Scout camp, family holiday, and shifts for work.

Working at my school for a week after exams finish - helping with sport/computing. Hoping for work experience for 2 weeks. He’ll be on Silver d of e for 5 days. Voluntary work in cafe at local day centre. A few days away in Devon in August. He also has a lot of computing projects to do as he hopes to do a degree in computing, so needs stuff to put in his cv.
