Hi,
Were going away on pur first holiday with baby to Havens hopton park. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for days out etc. Baby will be 10 months old. So far were thinking of the sea life centre and maybe one of the nearby zoos.. but it's an area we've never been to before so are slightly clueless.

Also we're driving from Derby so itll take around 3 1/2 hours does anyone have any recommendations of possible places to fo on the way there / back to break up the journey.

Thanks!

Hi, I no longer live in Norfolk by my in-laws and brother do so we travel from the south coast a lot and my sister is in Derby too.

The longest part of your journey will be once you hit Norfolk. Stop at Thetford. You will hit lots of roundabouts heading towards snetterton on one of the roundabout is a Sainsbury's and McDonalds.

For things to do have a look at
Pleasurewood hills
Lowestoft
Great Yarmouth
A bit further out but great is wroxham and the Norfolk broads (can hire a powered boat)
Norfolk has tons of national trust sites that are really buggy friendly so have a look.
Norwich city is nice and has its own castle that's worth a visit if you have never been. Has two malls, cathedral and open market.

Hope that's helped!

Thrigby hall wild life park is good, my 18 month old loves it.
Gorlstone splash pad on the seafront, not sure when that's opening for the season.
Roarr! Dinosaur adventure is another nice one.
Some of the bouncy castle people on the beach at great Yarmouth have diggers and small soft play areas which are good fun.
Some of our favourites :)

We normally go to Norfolk Lavender and Snettisham Park on the way to/from Gt Yarmouth.
We also like Merrivale Model Village and Somerleyton Hall whilst staying there.

Ahh amazing! Thanks so much for all these suggestions they're really useful - I'll have a look at them all tonight. Also for the info about recommended stop on the way. Think I've only just realised how long the drive is. Have any of you been to Africa Africa??

My parents took DN earlier this year and enjoyed it.
Wroxham - you can get a steam train and boat (large boat not a cruiser) round the broads.
Gorleston Beach is beautiful. If the splash pad isn’t open (it wasn’t open earlier in the week)
Pleasurewood Hills- theme park in Lowestoft
There’s also a really nice soft play in Pakefield (Right on top of Africa Alive) which has a decent baby part.
Lowestoft has a nice swimming pool (Waterlane) but avoid the Marina Centre. It’s really old and dingy now. They haven’t changed the soft play or pool since I was a baby and I’m 28!

Eurgh my first sentence refers to Africa Alive.

mintoreo · 23/05/2019 18:07

Fab thanks. Also ignore my typo I meant Africa alive. Got carried away! Thanks again for the suggestions!

I meant to saw Worxham Barns. It has a farm and soft play.
