Hi, we would love to go away for the duration of xmas but I'm stuck as to where to go short haul preferably, we would like somewhere that would cater for a 13 year old that's going to be t shirt weather and a bit festive
Any ideas please ? Thankyou

I think you will be stretched to go short haul and find T-shirt weather, maybe Canaries but I doubt it is guaranteed.

Agree! For t-shirt weather you may have to go further afield - add somewhere festive to the requirements & that complicates things. We have friends who fly to Grand Canary before Christmas quite often - it's warmer obviously than here but is apparently a bit of a mixed bag. My parents went to Madeira last Christmas & it was warm enough to wear just jumpers but it wasn't festive enough for my mother who wasnt happy to have lamb on Christmas day! Mid haul somewhere like Dubai will be by UK standards warm - I lived there years ago & at Christmas the ex-pats will be in jumpers & the tourists in t-shirts! While the hotels in Dubai will make a big razzmatazz of Christmas, I usually found it a bit crap & we'd go and have lunch on the beach instead!

Many millions of years ago when I was a student I went to Cyprus in December and that was about 20C, which is probably T-shirt weather for a 13 year old, at least is for my 13 year old DD. Grin

I would actually go to Lapland though for something Christmassy. Hotel was about 30C so can wear T-shirt inside and wrap up for husky, reindeer and snowmobile rides.

I’d go long haul and go to Goa.

I'd suggest Madeira too. They do nativity scenes in all the towns, firework displays in the run up to Christmas. And it's generally pretty mild in December. It's a 4-hour flight.
