Hi all,

Just after some advice please on how many clothes to pack for a week long holiday in Spain I June? Toddler is 23 months and is a very messy eater... 4 year old less messy.

I am a serial over-packer and I want to try really hard not to this time so advice is greatly appreciated. We are staying in a hotel apartment so I don't think there is a washing machine

TIA

If you’re eating at a casual restaurant or cafe, I think it would be perfectly acceptable for your 1yo to dine topless with just a bib. For more formal circumstances, you could take one top/all-in-one that you use for every meal time. Then take one light weight outfit per day. Dark colours are better for hiding dirt and stains! Pack more than one sunhat per child - we always end up losing them.

Get (or take of you already have) bibs with long sleeves you can just rinse and dry for the toddler. When DD was out of bibs I had some muslin squares with me for messy food, they also can be washed and dried quickly.

We normally had a top per day plus shorts with 3 back ups and swimwear. DD hated the UV suits in the water so she wore them at the beach playing.

If really the worst happens toddler tops can be hand washed.

We usually take a little bottle of handwash and wash some kids' clothes in the sink halfway through the week. You could get a pack of those paper bibs from the pound shop, but mine would never tolerate them.

Also i really strip back what I take for myself and do a proper capsule wardrobe as adult stuff is much bulkier.
