Passport advice

Hoping to get a bit of advice,
My dad who is in his 50s is having to apply for a new adult passport as he has only had handwritten ones in the past, I'm wondering does he need to provide his parents birth/death certificates for this? His mum is still alive but in her late 80s and unsure if she has a birth certificate and his dad passed away many years ago.
Just don't want to send the application without having all the correct supporting documents.
Thank you to anyone that has any advice Smile

That's good to know, I thought the interview would just be standard since it's being classed as a first passport application
