Car Hire Spain

Going to Malaga. Need to hire a car for a week from the airport and return there.

Prices vary widely. Some cheap options but not with the large suppliers. ArgusCar about £120 pw but huge security deposit

Known companies (hertz, Avis) about £300 pw for no excess.

I'm edging towards the large known companies, or am I falsely paying for the same service?

Anyone any advice?

I used Helle Hollis after reading reviews for our car hire at Easter. Our compact car was very new and their instructions/shuttle transfer was easy & quick - literally 5 mins, if that, down the road. Would definitely use again if we return to Malaga.

Have a look at Avis again, but choose your pick up / drop off point at the Maria Zambrano train station in Malaga itself.

Modern trains , there’s a stop at the airport.

We found hiring for 3 days from the airport ( end of March) almost double the cost of the same hire from the train station in Malaga!

I went for a local cheap company via zest. Service fine but tyres knackered. Avis are very good
