Cheap Amsterdam hotel

Taking ds2 (19) in June for 2 nights. I can't face a hostel, but everywhere is so expensive

Any recommendations for central 3* hotels at less than £100/night, please?

When I took DD (10) we stayed at the Conscious Hotel The Tire Station for about that. Quick train then tram from Schiphol following directions from hotel. On a tram line to the centre or a great walk through the Vondelpark. Clean, staff friendly, great breakfast. DD bit bemused by room mural of chap in swimming trunks diving into the bed but if she coped, your DS should.

If you're going midweek try Iron Horse Hotel. It's more expensive at weekends though and it does include breakfast.
Has unusual horse pictures though.
Weird pictures must be an Amsterdam thing

I stayed in one of the Ibis styles hotels (there are two almost next door to each other) nearish to the Heineken experience - the rooms weren't huge but was clean and included breakfast.

Was easy to walk to the museums and the centre from there.

Hotel La Boheme - cheap, sage, clean and friendly. My girlfriends and I stayed there last year. Loved it! Eco hotel. Fresh daily bakes, lovely breakfasts and a resident cat.

Safe not sage!

My Dutch colleague once told me that, if you are going to Amsterdam, then stay in Utrecht, as hotels are much cheaper, the train is quick, cheap and easy, and there is more to The Netherlands than Amsterdam.

We stayed in the conscious vondel park a few weeks back and it was lovely - great location and value

We've stayed at the Botel before, wasn't sure if it was still there. It was fine and super cheap when we stayed.
