Croatia - suggestions please

Looking to go for two weeks during the summer hols. Ideally one week in one place one week another. 3 children age 16, 10, 6 so need a variety of activities. Ideally walking distance to bars and restaurants. Would like to be near somewhere lively and fun rather than remote/romantic!

May have left it a bit late for this year ... our criteria was a little more restricted but we tried in lots of different areas of Croatia but couldn't find anywhere that suited us. We were after a private self catering.
But we will defo go hack another year. Just need to be more organised!
