Koh Samui - easy to island hop

Going end of June for 2.5 weeks. Will fly to Bangkok and spend few nights then head to K Samui and spend about 2 weeks. Have reserved villa for that time but wonder how easy it is to island hop to Koh Tao and Koh Phangan? Can we do day trips or should be plan to spend a couple of nights on the other 2 islands?

I'd suggest spending a couple of days on the other islands to fully appreciate them...Koh Phangan is beautiful but it isn't easy to get around, especially in a day...there's only 1 main road! We hired a driver for the day who showed us round the island
We stayed in hotel on NE of Koh Phangan (Haad Rin beach...beautiful and unspoilt..there were daily trips to other beaches on island as well as dive sites)
Avoid full moon party time as there's limited accommodation and you have to stay at least 48 hrs
Haven't been to Kao Tao but there are plenty of ferries to both islands from Koh Samui ( ferry takes approx 45 mins to Koh Phangan, considerably longer to Kao Tao)

Am up for going to Koh Phangan esp since ferry trip is short. May do 2 nights there and - hopefully will find inexpensive place to stay as we'll keep the accommodation at K Samui for that time.

Kho Tao is my favourite of those islands though tbh you would probably need to stay at least overnight to get a feel for it. The Kno Panghan ferry will go there too.
