I'm at Legoland today (with a 4 yr old)

It's absolutely rammed - There are loads of school ages kids here, primary and secondary. Just wondering if all schools have gone back after the Waster holidays?

Lots have got a day off for voting here.

Mine are in school today but quite a lot are off in the nearest town for polling.

A whole day off to vote? Wow, I didn't even know that happened!

Well the polling stations are open from 7am - 10pm. Some schools are able to open to certain year groups, it all depends om the size and layout of the school.

A lot of schools double up as polling stations and depending on the set up of the school they have to close on these days to safeguard the pupils.

I've just spoken to someone in a queue who has told me that a lot of the schools are indeed doubling up as polling stations!

Not only to safeguard the schools. The polling areas have to be secure too.

Knights, yep. Happened when I was at primary 26 years ago as well so not new (& when Dh was there & my Dad), in my area at least.
