Anyone got one of these? Mine's just arrived, in time for a trip to France, so getting my head around it. Wondered particularly whether anyone uses it to get cash out of ATM's?

Thanks.

Hi,

I've got a revolut card, and think it's great. I don't think we've used it to get money from an ATM though, just used it as a debit card to pay in shops/restaurants etc.

I really like that the app tells you immediately what you have spent and where. So you can really keep track of all the money.

unless you subscribe there are charges for taking cash out at the atm beyond a certina level so make sure you check before you go.
Otherwise we've had one for a few years and really like it

Take a backup card, I had endless problems with my Revolut card not working and terrible customer service, so got both a Starling card and a Monzo card instead.

Starling card has so far been fine everywhere as had my Monzo card until recently when it works on some transactions and won't work on others. Was fine in Monoprix, did not work in Carrefour, also did not work at a few places in the UK and has not worked in any ATM in France (have made around 6 attempts in different machines and different banks). For train tickets (SNCF) it worked fine today but not a week ago.

Very frustrating as you never know when or if it will work. Am now thinking of getting a fourth card no fees interbank exchange rate card as a backup but not sure what the options are...

Oh and when taking money out of ATM machines abroad or paying by card always reject the offer of conversion to pounds by the ATM or card machine, you will get a terrible exchange rate that is about 10 to 12% more expensive than the interbank rate you will get with Revolut/Monzo/Starling etc..

I am trying to make a Revolut payment in Euros to a Greek hotel. I have sufficient funds yet the payment is being refused. There isn't anyone that I can contact at Revolut, just automated messages and 'Rita', the online assistant who is giving me the same automated answer which makes no sense.

I’ve used starling for the last 3 years and it’s been by far the best card to use. Used in the states, Canada, Caribbean, Europe and west Africa with out any problems. App is ace and quick to add funds as tells you instantly what you’ve spent in GBP. For our trip to West Africa we also took out a BO card again works well and uses Visa rather than Mastercard so more Wiley accepted in Ghana

@Mummyonline

I had similar problems with Revolut, eg sufficient funds but payment refused and then crap customer service when I tried to sort it out. Eventually gave up and use Starling, Monzo and Monese instead. (Have 3 cards as always good to have a back up and sometimes Monzo transactions are refused too).

Only thing is all 3 are MasterCard, might be best to have one Visa just in case MasterCard is down or not accepted. I think only Bo (NatWest) and dozens issue Visa cards, but Bo might be closed and dozens switch from MasterCard to Visa is still pending...
