La Garangeoire: St Julien de Landes, Vendee

I know that at least one Mumsnet poster has been to La Garangeoire: St Julien de Landes in the Vendee. This year we went to La Foret in the same area. The campsite was excellent for people with smaller kids (mine are 7 and 4), enough to do but quiet at night. The manager is new this year and we heared that he is planning on explanding things next year, and may stop Canvas/Keycamp from going there.

I'm wary about booking in case it will have turned into an all singing/dancig camp site next year. La Garangeoire is in the same area and seems similar, but what is it like? La Foret was quiet enough for the kids to have a cahnce to 'do their own thing' a bit, so can anyone tell me what La Garangeoire is like?

This year we will be camping in our own tent (gulp). As this is my idea I am keep for things to go well!!!!!

Many thanks for help

I've not been but it has an excellent reputation. I tried to book us there with Eurocamp this year but it was full for school summer holidays, and that was back in March.

Many, many moons ago my mum tried to book our family holiday there (own tent) and again found it to be full really early; she was told that people rebook as soon as they get home !

Sorry not much help !

PS Thanks for your advice re science tech job, now 10 days in and I'm really enjoying it - much better than being in an office, although it obviously has its challenges

Great! I was wondering how it was going. our poor techs are struggling to cope at the start of term. They realy need another person, at least half time, so they are rushed off their feet.

Us too, put my pedometer on the other day just out of curiousity and did over 13000 steps in 4.5 hours !

It's nice to be able to use my common sense though, obviously having never done the job before, I'm trying to learn without asking 'dimwit' questions so by reading the relevant scheme of work files I can have a guess when the equipment lists aren't obvious - science teaching is MUCH more interesting now than when I was at school.

Oops sorry, not meaning to hijack your thread..

I haven't been but my parents have been several times and I don't think they would have liked it if it was noisy or too over the top. They generally went towards the end of the season though not in school holidays. It's run by Eurocamp isn't it?
