Total madness?
I spent a summer in ladakh years ago but are any other areas worth visiting in UK school summer holiday?
I'm just thinking in terms of weather really.

It will be monsoon, so hot and wet.

No. Go at Christmas.

I love that weather. You will be restricted in what you can do, but I would definitely go if that was the only possible time.

Definitely only possible time.

@Iamrubbishatdiy have you been in the summer? Any recommendations?

Donkeys years ago I went from April to August but headed for mountains for the later part (although goa the week the monsoon broke was lots of fun!)

Yes I was there from March to August and from July to August. The first time we too headed for the mountains, Himachel Pradesh, and the second time we were in the Delhi/Agra/West Bengal areas. Hot but I would go again, it didn't put me off. The only problem was it was very humid and some of our slightly thicker cotton stuff didn't quite dry. I would take thinner clothing next time.
