US visa interview HELP

Hi hoping someone can help. I messed up on 1 of our ESTA forms, I knocked one of the answers to YES instead of NO (stupid sensitive mouse pad) didn’t notice when going through to check so now it’s been declined. The ESTA, I messed up was my sons, he’s 15 and autistic. I’ve made his appointment to go to London to apply for a VISA, but I’m so confused.
Will I be able to sit in with him and lead the interview? He laughs when nervous so I know this is going to be an issue.
What documents do I need to take? I’ve looked online and just getting confused.
I tried to ring the US embassy, who told me to look online they can’t help over the phone then hung up.
One part of the what do I need to bring says,

Accompanying family members, unless entering the United States for another purpose, should present a marriage certificate (spouse) and/or birth certificate (for unmarried children under 21), as applicable.

This is the bit I’m struggling with, what does it mean? Does the whole family need to go to the interview or do I need to take all of their birth certificates?

Sorry to ramble on, should point out we’ve never travelled far before just a trip to Dublin a few years ago, but we had some inheritance so booked this once in a life time trip, now I’ve messed it all up and I’m panicking about it.

Please help

I would take it to mean that you need to bring his birth certificate, your holiday itinerary with details of your return flight and his passport with you. I would also think that you as his mother would be ok in itself to attend the interview with your son (bring id for your own self too like a passport).

Get to the embassy early, the line out the door is massive. DH got there at 7:30am and wasn’t the first one there

AttilaTheMeerkat Thanks I was hoping it meant something like that, didn’t fancy dragging everyone down there.

Backwoodsgirl Really? Omg. Thanks for the tip I’m staying 1 train station away so will make sure we get there early
